Self-care
Self-care is saying “I am worthy of love” and then giving yourself the love, care, attention, and nourishment you desire.
Self-care is not selfish. It’s honoring the truth about you — that you are worthy of some me-time. It is important that you feel nourished and like your cup is full.
Lots of us are givers, taking care of our family, our work obligations, and our friendships. But when it comes to taking care of ourselves, we put it off, saying other things are more important.
I am reminded of the pre-flight safety presentation, when the oxygen masks pop out of the ceiling. Put on your own before helping others.
This is an amazing metaphor for life
When you fill up your own cup first, you have that much more to give others.
For me, self-care can look like taking time to make myself feel beautiful, dress up in colors that make me happy, put on some dangly earrings, and then do something I love - like spending time in nature. 👇
It can look a lot of others ways too.
How do you fill up your cup?
